Hoopenburg is one of the Cape's foremost boutique wineries, with wines having gained a widespread reputation for high quality and excellent taste. Our philosophy is simple, “we produce new age wines in an old world style”. Our integrated textured wine is accessible and fruity, harvested from our immaculate vineyards.

At Hoopenburg we produce noble cultivars, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Nourished by pure underground springs, our unique bush vines produce wines of exceptional taste. Here the moderate climate combined with the deep red soils, create ideal conditions for cultivating grapes of the highest quality. This combination together with the micro climate and elevation is ideally suited to supply premium quality wines, much sought after in Europe and the rest of the world.

Our vineyards produce all the taste and flavours and are therefore appreciated as a vital asset. Here we use the latest scientific vine management and pruning techniques to optimize the wine quality. Our wine making process compliments the grapes natural potential. All our grapes are hand picked and with whole bunch pressing, hand plunging the best juices are extracted. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks or in open casks after which the wine is aged in French oak barrels. Depending on the style our winemaker will use these factors in varying combinations to suite our market. We also select some of the finest grape parcels from around the Cape wine region, thus not limiting our vision or style.

• Sauvignon blanc 2006	Ripe gooseberry tropical flavours with a touch of grassy freshness.
• Chardonnay 2005	Fresh, lemony aromas and flavours combine with a delicate smokiness for a well-balanced Chardonnay with a soft finish.
• Pinot noir 2004	Medium bodied. Full red berry aroma complements a firm tannin structure, supported by delicate oak.
• Merlot 2003	Red ripe berry fruit aromas. Palate is tasty, slightly spicy with some deliciously sweet oak vanilla coming through.
• Cabernet Sauvignon 2003	A subtle layered Cabernet with initial blackcurrent flavours, evolving into velvety vanilla undertones with firm lingering tannins.
• Shiraz 2003	Lightly spicy and delicately berried on the nose and palate.
